• HOUSE SK

Earlier this year we were invited to design a single-family house located in the natural surroundings, among the Kashubian forests and hills. Client's guidelines - a building with a contemporary character blended into the rural landscape, with a porch separated from the terrace and traditional red brick. This unique plot had however two main challenges - considerable slope of the terrain and entrance from the south side. We proposed a building in a form of two blocks shifted in relation to each other, which follow the topography of the terrain and allow for partial exposure of the living area to the south. This allowed to additionally create a separate roofed entrance zone, which has a function of a modern porch. External terraces made of brick paving, juxtaposed with the facade made of red brick, create a uniform base and visually unify the building.
